Must Have Fashion to survive this Summer 2014

Styles:

Sporty items paired with classic chics

Fluid and Oversized Fits: If there is one way to make your look more current, it’s wearing your clothes a little looser all over, and I can’t stress this point enough. Fluid fits, which are a little more structured than oversized fits, are an easy fit to wear and extra forgiving. Oversized fits are trickier but very doable when worn with just enough structure. And tailored fits are always in style, but do not confuse them with tighter body con fits.

Knitwear: (or sweaters), are the top to pair with bottoms both as a layering piece or standalone item. As the weather warms up, think pullovers in cotton, silk and linen blends in both chunky and fine gauges. There is enormous knitwear variety this season and truly, the silhouette and fabric options seem endless.

Colors:

Lime/Acid Green

Yellow

Orchid: Pantone Color of the year

Blue and Dark Blue: Dark blue, from light navy to deep ink, is a softer alternative to black, and looks great paired with black and shades of white. I’ll go so far as to say that ink blue is the new black, and for some, a better black. Modern and refreshing.

Orange is the new black:
the fiery hue has been spotted all over the spring 2014 ready-to-wear shows, making its way from the season's It lip to its clothes, bags, and shoes.

the combination of black and white is proving its staying power,

while icy pastels is getting into the mix (AKA metallics).

and regular pastels too. We’ve talked about pastels at great length. They are a lot more versatile than you might expect. Choose your pastels and wear them with neutrals, brights, earth tones or with tones of the same colour. If a pastel clothing item is too much of a commitment, wear a pastel bag, belt, scarf or pair of shoes. That includes light blue which is VERY IN this season
Coral, Aqua marine, Lemon

White: Lighten, brighten and soften your outfits by incorporating wardrobe items in all shades of white into your outfits. Think white jeans, cropped pants, skirts, dresses, tops, knitwear, jackets, footwear, bags, belts and sunglasses in shades of white.

Items:

Overall (jeans or cotton) and jumpsuits: Relaxed, easy, cool: there's something so appealing about a pair of dungarees. This spring, bibbed overalls have made their comeback in everything from classic denim to luxurious statement-making leather.

Boyfriend Jeans: They are the trending mainstream denim silhouette. Choose one in a slim-fit silhouette, or opt for relaxed skinnies if baggy and slouchy styles are not your thing. Size up in straight leg jeans to get the same effect if you’re particularly narrow on the hips and thighs.Cropped versions are great for Summer.

Midi Skirts and Dresses: If you like to wear skirts and dresses, wear them at midi length. Midis can just cover the knee, cover part of the calf, or cover the entire calf. They can be pencil, flared, high-low, trumpet or avant-garde in silhouette. Skirts with lots of movement look particularly fresh.
Non-Black Moto Jackets: The moto jacket is a classic that can be paired with just about anything these days. Remember that motos are totally work appropriate if you choose a more refined style. And think beyond leather and beyond black. Think knits, Spring tweeds, twills, quilted cottons, pleather and mixed media fabrications.

Cropped Pants: This is one of the biggest trends of the season – AGAIN. The cropped silhouette in pants has become somewhat of a new classic, offering much variety in shape and a range of thematic applications from ultramodern to safari expedition. Slimmer fits highlight flat-front or five-pocket designs. New wide-leg styles often feature pleats and cuffed hems. Nothing says fashion forward like being the first to jump onto a bold new shape. And while culottes aren't exactly new, their volume and proportion in spring 2014 is unlike what we've seen in recent memory. Now considered ultra-chic, as well as figure forgiving, the mid-cropped culotte should be on your radar for spring 2014.

Wide Pant Legs: There is life beyond skinny and straight leg silhouettes. Wear jeans and trousers that are tailored on the thigh but flare out from the knee down, like bootcuts and bell bottoms. Wear trousers and jeans that are wider on the thighs but taper back at the hem, like silky track pants, harem pants and boyfriend jeans. Or wear trousers that are loose and wide from thigh to hem. These aren't your parents' flares. Relaxed, easy, and cool, wide leg trousers make are back in fashion this summer. Comfortable and with all the potential to become sophisticated, they're a statement worth making in summer 2014

Cropped Boxy Jacket and tops: A roomy moto jacket is one way of interpreting this trend, but so are extra short pea coats, Chanel-esque jackets, trapeze jackets, roomy tuxedo jackets and bomber jackets. This season, boxy tops become a key item spanning retro, futurist and even utilitarian themes. With broad shoulders as an essential, wide and raglan sleeves are a natural update. Other favored interpretations include sheer inserts, epaulettes and color blocking.

Cropped tops:The popularity of the crop top in recent seasons has given rise to several complementary trends. Some, like the bandeau, feel instantly familiar. Others, like the cropped shirt, feel utterly fresh. Both, and the crop top included, don't depend on perfect abs, anything but. Want to know how to style them perfectly and merge the old with the utterly fresh and new. Not for everyone though constantly turning heads towards those who opt to wear it, crop tops makes a return amongst spring 2014's fashion trends. Fashionising.com has your guide on how to wear it, whose designing it, and all the other summer trends to wear it with.

Shoes:

Pairing new style footwear with items that are several seasons old is an effective way of refreshing their look. Pointy toes, which includes almond toes, in both heeled and flat styles are top of the list. But there are plenty of options if pointy toes aren’t your thing.

Tea/wooden Wedges

Woven sandals

Embellished flat sandals

Square/box heels

Spring bootie

In the perfect combination of high-heel sandal and bootie, this silhouette is a strong alternative to the typical pump. Experiment with neutral colors a la Victoria Beckham or Derek Lam's colorful crocodile interpretation for spring and summer 2014.

Casual sneakers
Ongoing from last winter, pair up your running shoes with a classy and dressy outfit.

Bags:
Clutches, Bowling Bags or Satchels: Choose one of these styles and you’ve instantly refreshed your look for the season.

Structured bag: The structured bag swung its way down the runway with a multitude of styles from Michael Kors, Dior and Marc Jacobs. The strong lines of its silhouette paired with handy top handles make this bag the most practical finishing touch for spring/summer 2014.

Mini bag/clutch
After many seasons of the tote and oversized bags taking the spotlight, we see a new trend emerge with the mini bag. Whether a wristlet or cross-body silhouette, there is nothing more liberating than keeping just the essentials at your side.

Sunglasses:
Round frame sunglasses

Mirror glasses in blue or silver or green

Prints:

Florals

Tribal

 Bold stripes

Textures:

Neoprene

Lace: Make it light, and make it bright. This isn't your grandma's lace - it's sexy, it's sensual, and it's a spring / summer 2014 statement.

Sheer: Sheer clothing became mainstream long ago, but each season brings new interpretations and new rules of the game. One of the key ways to wear see-through fabrics in spring 2014? By layering. From sheers layered with opaques to sheer-on-sheer,
