MAC Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo Review & Swatches

M.A.C 's Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo that is described as a “cool coral blush and matte neutral bronze duo.”  I’m currently using both, the bronzer for contouring, and the blush as a blush (duuuh!).

The packaging is extremely beautiful, chic, classy and feminine in this rose gold compact. The fact that its beautiful and practical actually made me think to use this compact even after I use up all the product, and depot any of M.A.C mineralise skin finish powders in it. A beautiful chic add on to your makeup bag.
Hibiscus Kiss Bronzer is a matte neutral bronze, which makes it perfect for contouring too, not just bronzing. It’s a medium-dark tan with warm, yellow-orange undertones and a matte finish. It has a good, buildable color payoff with a soft, smooth texture. I rarely find a bronzer that suits my skin tone for some reason, and this one is the one I have been looking for.

I have previously loved Bourjois' Maxi Delight bronzing powder, but that was when I was slightly tanned in the summer, but now that I have lost the color, that shade looks orange and fake on my skin (sad, huh?). Lucky me, now I have an even better sub. for my bronzing and contouring routine.

Hibiscus Kiss Blush is a softly warmed-up, coral-pink with a satiny sheen. The color seemed very dark and pigmented in the pan, but when applied, it is very sheer and light. I first dabbed my brush very lightly on the product, thinking it's going to be extremely packed and opaque on my cheeks. On the contrary, it was as if it is not even there! However, the blush is buildable and with enough layering, it showed up on my skin. I believe on darker complexions (I’m Light/Medium or NC25-30), it may show slightly but it won't be what you expect. So, for darker skin tones, all you have to do is layer and layer.
The texture felt a little dry and stiff, so when I really jammed my brush at the pan/powder to pick up more product, only then I was able to get the payoff needed to show up on my skin tone.

The Hibiscuss Kiss Powder blush duo has, like most of M.A.C's blushes, a good lasting power. It’s been six hours since I applied it and the wear still seems just fine.

To sum this up, I would give the bronzer an easy A, however the blush is the one I'm quite hesitating about, so I would give a C for the reasons stated above.

I have been sent this as a product sample for review.
