As I have mentioned before, Maybelline is one of my favorite affordable makeup brands. I really love their mascaras but something I've never branched out with is their foundations. I have been a little stuck in my ways with brands like Mac and Benefit for my foundation needs. Having heard a lot of good reviews on their Dream Matte Mousse foundation I decided to give it a try.
I prefer matte
foundations. I am not keen on glowy foundations, I would rather my skin look
natural and any glow be achieved with a highlighter. It also has no SPF meaning
that it should photograph well. But for some reason, my face was a white
hallow in photos-that’s one Con.
It has a gorgeous velvety, creamy texture and blends seamlessly with your skin leaving it soft and silky. I apply it using my finger better than the brush, because with the brush it flakes, and I don’t know why.
Also, I have been
using this for two years now. However, for no reason, all of a sudden my skin
started to hate it! I have tried redeeming the mousse by using it in
combination with moisturizer, day cream, tinted moisturizer, and water, but the
mousse always gives a flakey look to my face.
However, it lasts very well on my skin. I have had no allergic reactions to it
either. But good does it do if it no longer blends well on my skin?!
P.S. Water-based
non-comedogenic foundations work best for oily skin since they do
not block the pores and feel lightweight on the skin.

Pros:
Cheap

Goes on smoothly, no rough texture.
Long staying power and good product for Combination skin
Cons:
Does not last
Does not work with dry skin or overly oily skin
Oxidizes making an orange cast to the tone of color
Careful when applying to cover everything as it has a tendency to look patchy
If you have sensitive skin this is not the one for you.
Does not cover acne or problem areas.
This is really a disappointment for me with Maybelline.
P.S. . If you decide to buy this product, make sure you do the lid up
tightly though because this product can dry out quite quickly.
